Jon Christopher Ltd is a privately-owned limited company of property advisors in London, providing services for customers across the UK and overseas. Our established business was founded in 1996.

 

How / when do we collect client personal information?

This Privacy Policy applies to the personal data of buyers, sellers, website visitors, prospective/existing clients of Jon Christopher Ltd, suppliers, attendees to Jon Christopher Ltd events and other people who may contact us in order to find out more about properties or the services including registration on our website and interaction on social media;

What type of personal data do we collect?

 

Tenant/purchaser data:

In order to provide lettings and sales services to our clients, we are required to process certain information about tenants and purchasers. We will only ask for details that are necessary to help you find or complete a transaction on a property. This includes details such as your name, email address, telephone number(s), credit records, workplace, professional specialism(s), bank statement, solicitor’s details, and other required information.

 

Where appropriate and in accordance with regulatory or legal requirements, we may also collect information related to your immigration status, sources of funds or details of any misconduct our clients may need to know about. We also collect your bank details to process payment of fees for other services which you contract from JonChristopher. We may use your email address and property requirement to send you relevant properties throughout your search, but you are free to opt-out and close your property search at any time, or ask to be removed from our database.

Landlord/seller data

If you are a buyer or a landlord, we need to collect and use information about you, or individuals at your organisation, in the course of providing you services such as providing you with support in letting or selling your property.

 

We will only collect what is necessary to carry out a service and for regulatory or legal requirements. We also ask for your bank details to process any fees payable or for payments for other services that you have instructed Jon Christopher Ltd to provide.

 

Supplier data

We need a limited amount of information from our suppliers to ensure that we can facilitate services or property transactions. To do this, we will ask for company email addresses and phone numbers of relevant individuals at your organisation so that we can communicate with you/them. We also need other information such as your bank details so that we can pay for the services you provide if this is part of the contractual arrangements between us.

  • Right of Access

You may wish to access a copy of the personal data we hold about you known as a Subject Access Request. You can do so by contacting us by phone, email or letter. We will respond to your request in a timely manner, but within 30 days. If data for the individual requesting access is not held but data for the company is, will seek authority being sharing your data. In this instance the 30 day period will start from authority being obtained. Please be aware that for security reasons we will not share information relating to bank account details.

 

  • Right of Rectification

  • Right of Erasure

You have the right to request your personal data to be permanently deleted from our records and systems to avoid any further communication with you. We will provide you with the information about how we collect and use your personal data in various ways at the time of collecting your data, first use of your data and via our privacy statement available to view on our website and all email correspondence. Any changes to our privacy policy will be communicated with you via email. With credit account customer information relating to any updates will also be sent out with invoices. Should Copping Joyce Ltd suffer an event causing the loss of personal data we will inform the Information Commissioners Office with 72 hours of becoming aware of the event. Should the event pose a severe threat to the freedom of an individual we will notify you accordingly. If we feel that there is no threat to personal data we will record the event but not notify you.
